The EB Tire Blue Line Bicycle Wheel is a wheel of exceptional
value and construction. Each wheel is handcrafted to our
specifications using several name brand components. All Blue
Line wheels feature Velocity rims, upgraded spokes, a choice of
silver or blue brass spoke nipples and nice easily serviceable ball
and cone hubs. Each wheel is trued by hand and then rim
tape is installed. EB Tire Blue Line Wheels and Wheel-sets are
attractive sturdy wheels at a great price.
----- At $149 a set, these wheels are a steal. Let me tell you why.
A few years ago a friend who installs home theater systems gave
me some advice about buying good stereo speakers. He said to
purchase the least expensive top of the line speakers from a
great speaker manufacturer because they use the same drivers and
same technology in all of their speakers, its' just that the
boxes the speakers come in vary in price.
Using the same theory, when you buy a Blue Line Wheel, you are
getting a wheel from a great manufacturer. The Twin Hollow rim
is a less expensive rim to produce because it is a single walled
rim but is uses the same aluminum the most expensive rim has. It
is made on the same equipment as the more expensive rims and the
same software and same people who produce the more expensive
rim, also produce the less expensive one.
Unless you have special needs, a single walled rim is capable of
years and years of reliable service.
Take the Twin Hollow rim, upgrade the spokes and use the "3
Cross" lacing pattern and you get an incredibly strong wheel.
The same spokes (DT Swiss) used on wheel-sets costing 5 times
more are installed on the Blue Line. The same spoke nipples
going on wheel-sets that cost $600 and more are installed
standard on the Blue Line Wheels. Each Blue Line Wheel has
rim tape installed upon completion (just like the pros). The
same technicians, who assemble very expensive Velocity wheels,
assemble the Blue Line Wheels and then box them up and send them
to you in the very same box they use on the premium wheel-sets.
Everything that goes into making a very expensive wheel, goes
into making a Blue Line Wheel.
