One of the first things you notice
about Vittoria is just how good the catalog is. Almost all
manufacturers produce very good catalogs but the Vittoria
catalog does a real good job of educating the reader. The screen
shots to the right represent sample pages where relevant
information is contained. What makes the Vittoria experience so
nice is that after looking through the catalog, the reader is
better informed and you can really get an excellent feel for the
history and commitment of the manufacturer. The pyramid picture
representation of the "TPI" (threads per inch) is the best one
we have seen. Also there are pictures of the different thread
counts which is something we haven't seen in any other catalog.

thread count and for very good reason. A lot of other
manufacturers are skimpy on the thread counts because higher
thread count fabrics cost more. Another trick manufacturers
might use is to make the threads thicker and Vittoria exposes
that practice with photographs of the differences.
The Zaffiro line is where the real value can be found with tires
starting at $17 for the wire bead. The Rubino is a step up from
the Zaffiro. The Diamante comes next with the race tires being
the next step up. The Randonneur series is very similar to other
manufacturers offerings for durable commuter tires but Vittoria
uses a rubber harder than glass, making flats unlikely. Plus the
tires have a sleek refined look to them. All Vittoria tires have
logos that have a retro race feel to them. Very attractive and
very nice.
The tubular tires from Vittoria are legendary and prices range
from $39 to $139 with the lightest tire coming in at 135 grams.
