| The Kojak is one of the latest tires of Schwalbe. Schwalbe Kojak
tires have highest speed ratings and they are the super-light and fast
slick tires for bicycles. These tires are produced by leading German
manufacturer Ralf Bohle GmbH. Schwalbe is a leading manufacturer of
highly reliable commuting, touring and utility tires. It caters to the
requirements of a wide variety of market, even those markets which are
ignored by others. Schwalbe Kojak tires are very light as compared to other Schwalbe tires. They weigh only 295 grams. They are available in different sizes such as 35-559 (Kevlar or wire bead) or 35-622 (wire only), as well as this balloon-width 50-559 (also wire only). Schwalbe Kojak tires provide your bicycle a faster speed. These tires provide you speed boost for faster rides. The users of Schwalbe Kojak tires have shown great confidence about the boost in speed they get from these tires. With the help of Schwalbe Kojak tires you can easily pick up about 2 to 3 mph in speed over 20 mph. These tires are recommended for city bikes which do not have to travel long distances. These tires are not designed for long commutes. The Schwalbe Kojak tires are completely tread-less. They give a new look to your bicycle. The Schwalbe Kojak tires have an interesting look of an old racing style balloon slick. Even the writing on the side of the tires has that old style. Reflective sidewalls, dynamo tracks and similar detailing are absent from these tires. They do have a new reflective label, but this cannot replace the reflective lines or spoke reflectors. The absence of reflective sidewalls can cause some problem for the riders at night time. They come with Race Guard protection belt. RaceGuard is a protection belt which is made from india rubber and nylon fabric. It protects very well against penetration punctures and does not have significant effect on weight and rolling resistance. Although they do not provide as good puncture protection as Marathon Plus tires, they do reasonably well when on full psi. Schwalbe Kojak tires have been designed to run at a full 95 psi. They feel solid and rock-hard when fully inflated. The Kojaks are rather skinny tires at only 1.35 wide. It is preferable to run these tires at full psi because at lower pressures their puncture resistance is compromised. Schwalbe Kojak tires are tread-less slick light weight tires. Because of no treads, the tires have larger contact area with the ground. Although these tires have no tread, but they perform very well even in wet conditions and normal smooth roads because of the larger contact area. The Kojak tires are not very good on the loose gravel and dirt paths. They do not have treads; therefore there is no rubber to dig in the loose dirt or sand to provide sufficient grip to the tire. The Continental Sport Contact tires are a good example similar tires which can be used as alternative to Schwalbe Kojak. The advantages of Schwalbe Kojak include fast speed, reliability, strong puncture protection, and durability. As mentioned earlier, the disadvantage is that they are not good on the dirt track and loose gravel. The other drawback is that it is less puncture proof as compared to Marathon plus.
